Scott grew up in Metairie and played high school soccer at
Ridgewood Preparatory School, a 500 student K-12 school in Metairie, LA.
Playing all four years of High School, his biggest year was his junior year,
when his team made it to the Quarterfinals and he was an All District
selection. He was the team captain in his senior year, but a broken
leg in the first match sidelined him for the season. In May 1998 he
graduated as Salutatorian from Ridgewood and headed to LSU. Being in
Baton Rouge, he had to keep up with his sport in New Orleans through the
newspapers and internet. Even while dedicating himself to his studies,
he spent hours and hours developing his websites (MattParkerFanClub and then
LAprepSoccer.com).
Scott was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi at LSU. He
graduated magan cum laude in 2002 and moved on to study at the Princeton
Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey.
Scott is a member of the John Calvin Presbyterian Church. He would
like to share with you his first sermon: Prophets
