Thanks to Scott Crawford!

Scott Crawford, while attending LSU, created LAprepSoccer.com to "advance high school soccer in Louisiana by bringing more attention to the sport by providing easy access about current and past high school soccer teams to anyone with internet access."

In 1999 Scott started the MattParkerFanClub under the pen name of Kevin Nelson.  His research and enthusiasm spurred a lot of excitement in the soccer community.  He did a great job posting information he gathered from newspapers and people across the state.  He also provided predictions based on his research.

In 2000, Scott revealed his true identity and expanded the site to create LAprepSoccer.com. To the current season information he added details of the history of high school soccer in Louisiana.  As the number of people accessing LAprepSoccer grew, so did the completeness of the information.  Long time soccer supporters like Brother Tim at St. Paul's and Brian Hall in Shreveport joined in to help.  Scott spent hours in the basement of the LSU library researching the boys playoff history and managed to document everything since 1986 when LHSAA made soccer an official high school sport.

In 2001, a girls site was added and maintained by Kathleen Garey.  It was only fair that the girls should be as honored as the boys were!  A listing of college players was begun (with a lot of help from Lue Ann Greco on the girls side) and the site continued to grow.

Scott graduated from LSU in the Spring of 2002 and moved on to bigger and better things.  Kathleen Garey took over the boys site and continues to promote high school soccer through improvements to LAprepSoccer.com.

But the key to this site are the coaches, players, parents, and fans across Louisiana.  This site will continue to grow and become better as more and more people know about it.  We need scores, schedules, records, honors and other information from across the state.  We also need history - there are a lot of blanks!  And any technical or financial help would be greatly appreciated!
