The 1988-1989 season saw the playoff format expand from a 16 team format to a 32 team format. Slidell won its second
straight state title and its fourth title in five years. Northshore's only two losses were to Slidell. This was the
last season that all teams were in one division. Jason Kreis of the Dallas Burn was named All-State as a Junior this season.
