championship in its second state final appearance (second in two years). Loyola, coached by Shelly McMillan, appeared in
its second title appearance (1996 (Div 2) the other).
St. Louis made its fourth of five Semifinal appearances, falling in that round in a hotly debated game that went down to
penalty kicks.
Newman, led by sophomore Dwayne Jones, failed to make it to the Semifinals for the first time since 1994. It was also
only the second time in six years that Newman failed to reached the Finals.
Country Day made it to its first Semifinals after three other trips to the Quarterfinals.
Parkview Baptist coach Craig Winchell was named NSCAA Region 6 (Southwest) Private High School Coach of the Year.
Newman's Dwayne Jones was selected to the NSCAA Southwest All-Region Team
