Newman coach Gerry Mueller secured his second Division II title in three years when Chris Wood shot a ball that deflected
off an ESA defender and went in the goal. The championship would end with a 1-0 score. Episcopal School of Acadiana
made it to the Finals for the third time in the six years that the LHSAA had a Division II. The other three years, ESA
reached the Semifinals, proving the constitency of the program. 1995, however would be the last time ESA made it to the
Finals. St. Louis, coached by Jason Oertling, made it to the Semifinals for the first time, a foreshadowing of things to
come. University, who defeated power Vandebilt, made it to its first and only Semifinals.
Newman's coach, Gerald Mueller, was named NSCAA Region 6 (Southwest) Private High School Coach of the Year, his first of
three.
1995 would be the last year that the LHSAA had only two divisions in soccer. The divisions would expand to three in the
1995-1996 season.
